Holy Hunger
We prayed for growth and maturity in the UK churches, that there would be a dissatisfaction with stagnancy and a desire for the solid word of God. Two Scriptures came to mind, the first from Hebrews 5:13,
“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
The other Scripture we prayed was from Matthew 4:4,
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
We prayed that the church would hunger for the Word of God which brings life and restoration. We prayed that Christians would feed on His living manna and be satisfied in Him. We declared Hebrews 4:12,
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
When His word is preached, it will bring forth conviction in hearts but also honour the Lord! We also prayed for the strengthening of the church and that His word would be proclaimed in power.
