Return To Your First Love
The Lord reminded me of how much His heart burns with love and passion for the Bride of Christ, and we focused on praying for the Bride to be restored to the Lover of her soul. We read the Scriptures from Isaiah 54:5,
“For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth”.
Furthermore, Deuteronomy 6:5 was released,
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your strength”.
One of the ladies in the meeting started singing a song over the Church: O Church of Jesus Christ, return to your first love, your first love when you fell in love with Me, says the Lord. I am calling you, return to your first love.
We prayed for the restoration of passion and longing for the Lord in His Bride, that she would have an undivided heart, fully devoted to her husband. As the word of God was released, we also prayed Hosea 2:14-20 and Song of Solomon 8:6-8. We prayed that she would turn from idolatry and would call the Lord her Husband, not just her Master. In faithfulness she would return, as He has betrothed her to Himself forever. We also prayed that she would say “Set me as a seal upon Your heart” to her bridegroom who loves her with a love that never changes.
Hosea 2: 14-20:
14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak comfort to her.
15 I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.
16 “And it shall be, in that day,”
Says the Lord,
“That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’
And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’
17 For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals,
And they shall be remembered by their name no more.
18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
With the beasts of the field,
With the birds of the air,
And with the creeping things of the ground.
Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,
To make them lie down safely.
19 “I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;
20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,
And you shall know the Lord.
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
6 Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
Truly neither height nor depth, nor things past, present or things to come, could ever separate His Bride from the love of God, and that she would respond to His love with a renewed passion and honour! She will bow before the Lord, so He would be lifted high.
