Lift Up Your Heads, O You Gates!
We were led to pray for repentance and the conviction of heaven to come upon Wales. We prayed for the church and our homes, and that the Holy Spirit’s mantle would descend like a dove with its wings spread all across the nation of Wales – as it flew over this nation, it seeks for places where He could rest upon. I believe God is looking at this nation as seen in Genesis 1:2: ‘The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.’ The Son of God is finding a place to lay His head – Luke 9:58.
To the gates in the nation of Wales, we declared Psalm 24:9, “Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in” and to swing wide open! We prophesied to the East, West, North and South gates to be opened for the King of Glory to come in. Likewise we pray that the gates of witchcraft be shut and that every knee will bow before the King of Glory and no other.
We also prayed for righteousness to be restored to Wales and read aloud Isaiah 55:10,
‘For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.’
The Lord has given us these words and assuring us that His Word will go forth from His mouth and will not return to Him void, accomplishing what He has decreed. His Word is like rain that comes down to water the earth and brings forth life. We also prayed for a greater measure of His presence and the rains of heaven to bring transformation to melt every hardened heart.
For those who would be born today, we prayed a prayer of blessing, and the safety and protection of the children in Wales. We called forth God’s purposes and plans for them and blessed His churches who are trying to reach out and help God’s children. We prayed for the education system that would shape the values, thinking and responses of these younger children. We also prayed over the universities that the Lord will bless and bring Spirit-filled students and lecturers into schools and colleges.
For the unsaved, we prayed that the Lord would plant His labourers among them so that they will hear of the Gospel. Additionally, we asked that the Lord would come to help the young people who are lost and finding their way, and also for those who desire Him earnestly to experience and encounter Him. We asked the Lord to open the eyes of the spirit-filled Christians and enable them to bring His presence into their homes and communities.
Lastly, we prayed for the healing of the sick in the land, that doctors and nurses in the hospital would be blessed for the good work they are called to do. We stand with the brothers and sisters of Wales to take back anything the enemy has stolen and prayed that God will return and restore these things to them.
